Does the doctor drug test you when you're pregnant?

If I became pregnant and I went to my first doctor appointment, would she do a drug test? Can they do a test without my consent? I'm wondering because my dealer said his wife was drug tested at every doctor appointment while she was pregnant but that seems weird to me. I do NOT tell any healthcare professional that I smoke.

Depending on where you live, where I live they cant drug test you without your consent even than it only happens if they suspect that you're using drugs.

I was tested in my last pregnancy and the Dr told me that if I was still smoking that it'd be better if I stop because so I'll workers would be called on if the baby would be born and tested positive for weed

I got drug tested at like 2 months and didn't know until the Dr office called me saying it was positive for weed and that they "WILL be checking later" in my pregnancy. They also took my sons first poo and sent it in to get tested for it. Where I live if his poo would have been positive then it's an automatic open CPS case for 30 days. If you stop by 3 or 4 months it should be completely out of the baby's system

Yea my drs office takes a urine sample every visit and last time he got on me about coming back positive for weed. He said he personally doesn’t care but the judge will take my baby away if I come out positive when the baby is born and they’ll subpoena him to check past urine results blah blah blah. I figured getting high isn’t worth all that so I just stopped cold turkey. I miss smoking but I haven’t felt desperate or anything.

Haven’t ever been drug tested at an appointment. Or my boys poop. The state that I’m they need probable cause to drug test you or your child. Like low birthweight is a red flag .

Yes, even if you live in a legal state they need to drug test you. I was only tested twice, but only actually did one year. I told my midwife I was using and I wasn't using anything other than cannabis for medical purposes so I saw no point in the second test so I just left the pee container empty in the thing they told me to put it on. They will test baby regardless when they are vorn, so even if YOU refuse, baby will eventually be tested and it can show up.
