Anyone else not getting a crib?

I just feel like it's not worth it, if I'm breastfeeding. We have a full size bed in there the baby and I will use, that way I won't have to get up and down so much at night, and it will allow my husband to sleep through the night for work. Is this a super uncommon thing?

It depends on your sleep arrangements. My baby will likely spend the first year sleeping in a pack n play in my room. In our case the crib is not necessary. If you plan to keep the baby in your room and will have other sleep arrangements I wouldn’t bother with the crib. I would suggest having something for baby to sleep in just in case you don’t care for bed sharing. Some newborns are extremely noisy and I’ve had friends who found they slept better when baby was not right next to them.

Are you just going to move baby straight into a toddler bed once you no longer breast feed? And will you stay in his room until that point or will he transfer to your room and co-sleep? What if you can't breast feed, will you still stay in his room or co-sleep until he's big enough to move to a toddler bed? Our crib is for when he's too big for his bassinet, but too small for a toddler bed because we can't co-sleep.

I would personally just get a convertible crib so you can then it into a toddler bed once baby is too old for the crib. I wouldn't put a toddler under 2 into a toddler bed, so you would be stuck co-sleeping for a whole 2 years and then by that time you would probably have quite a time getting your little one to sleep on their own without you.
