He smelled like old lady perfume
We're tucked in bed. He's skipped a shower tonight because we're both sleep deprived from caring for a sick toddler. Welp he's knocked out snoring and twitching. I go to hug him and I smell something different on his skin. I am sensitive to smells ever since pregnancy. I keep sniffing him so I can register the smell and find a match around the house. I go to our laundry detergent, then deodorants, a couple of colognes and no match. So, I tap him on the shoulder and keep whispering , you smell funny. He won't wake up so I tap him harder and he finally awakes. I ask, why do you smell like perfume, old lady perfume? He's so out of it and replies, I don't know. Then he mumbles it's prolly the deodorant. I say, nope, you smell like old lady perfume, why? He's so disoriented and I ask , what cologne did you wear today? He answers the one cologne I didn't smell and rolls over back to sleep. I jump outta bed and match it. then I felt like a stoops. Why am I looking for things that aren't there? I must be bored and sleep deprived and an insomniac losing her marbles. How does he put up with my non sense? I'm so lucky! Good-night! I'm still going to sleep on the couch bc of his twitches and muscle spasms... and lingering old lady perfume smell. Foochi-Guacala!
