Chromosomal testing

Elissa

I'm not completely sure where to put this, but I thought this is something women should know. After three losses in 7 months, we began seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist. Long story short, we're doing chromosomal testing for recurrent pregnancy loss. I've looked into pricing in so many places, just for an idea of what it would cost. This year, we went with a blue cross insurance plan with a $1500 deductible (the lowest deductible) and hit it in January. Co-insurance is $6500 and we haven't hit that, but I'm only paying about 10% out of pocket. I am in Kansas. I was reading that it would cost 3-4K pre-insurance for a chromosomal analysis. We got our bill today and before insurance, it was only $390! This is the basic analysis, but I thought it would be so much worse! I just wanted to post this for women who are looking for pricing answers and I'm sure it really varies by provider, state, insurance company, etc., but after insurance, I'm paying about $80 and my husband's is $130 since he hasn't hit his part of the deductible. I hope this may be useful for someone else!
