Winter clothes for toddlers

My husband and I are planning a trip to the north east for Christmas. My son will be 1 years old. I’d like to get him really good quality clothes like north face but my husband is worried he will only get to wear it for one winter so he doesn’t want to spend so much money on expensive brands. What do y’all think? What brands do you use for your kids?
