Very odd question:

Does anyone have baby doll they hold to “simulate” the comfort of holding a real baby when they are stressed or sad?

Context: When I was 16, the first thing I bought from my first paycheck from my first job was a baby doll. I had seen “reborn babies” on YouTube and was obsessed with getting one myself. Of course, I was paid minimum wage so I opted for a doll from a website I cannot remember. The doll I ordered was $116 and sooooooo not worth it. False advertising at it’s best. On the website it has brownish grey eyes and beautiful strands of hair the looked sewn in.

She arrived and well..... her eyes were blue... and creepy. Her eyelashes were falling off after one week. And her hair.... just weird.... obviously glued. Since then she wears a hat. Always.

Today, I still have her because, c’mon $116, and despite her being falsely advertised, I would hold her every day after work or during stressful points. After getting married, though, I put her away in storage and tried to have my own baby. After 2 years of trying, I decided to pull her out today and she no longer looks creepy to me. She has the weight of a small preemie, and is more comforting than ever.
