activities to do w a 1yr old?

i have a 1yr old boy, he still cant talk yet, but he can make some vowel sounds, and he understands 'no' and 'bye'. i dont really know how to play w/ him, besides singing along nursery rhymes, playing ball, chasing him, and rolling cars w him. any ideas on what i should do w/ him? ive tried reading to him, but he isnt interested in that.

Get out of the house! Around 12 months I started taking our little guy everywhere. Parks, playgrounds, botanical gardens, kids museum, zoo, etc etc. they love seeing anything and everything at this age!

All these sound good. I’d definitely say read to anyways... it’s such a good and important habit to get into. Park, play dates, bubbles, swim... maybe try coloring.

Look into your local library. They often have free programs for children. They’ll sing songs, read stories. A good way to give him some different experiences and for you to get out and meet other moms.

All of the things you are doing sound good! plus all these other suggestions. Building blocks is really good for this age, either wooden blocks or Mega or Duplo blocks. And some sort of shape sorter where you put the circles in the circle hole and the squares in the square hole, etc.

My son is the same age and he just started to LOVE the shape sorter toys (I help teach him where to put each shape) and he also loves the Little People toys! We have the Noah’s Ark (he loves taking the animals in and out) and also the Tractor (he takes the animals off and puts them back on)!
Also, he loves water so I take him to the splash pad at the local park so he can interact with other kids and run around!
