Mock Cycle?
What’re your thoughts on doing a mock cycle?
Back story— I’m 25 and my husband and I have been TTC for two and a half years. We’ve gone through 6 medicated cycles (5 of which had at least 1 IUI). None took. Our tests show there’s no reason I shouldn’t have gotten pregnant. We finally are in the middle of our first IVF cycle, which is such a long process! I finished my injections and they retrieved 26 eggs. 21 were mature and fertilized on day 1, 7 were healthy enough on day 5 to biopsy. 5/7 were genetically healthy for transfer.
I’m currently on birth control to insure my ovaries have gone back to their normal size. My doctor suggests that I consider a mock cycle where I take estrogen for 2 weeks, progesterone injections for 6 days and then they biopsy my uterus to see if it’s receptive. If it is, I’d do that all over again, only instead of a biopsy, they’d do the transfer and I’d continue progesterone for up to 10 weeks if the cycle is successful.
I’m so torn on what to do! Have any of you guys done a mock cycle like this? Have any of you decided against doing it?
(I’ve already done the trial transfer where they use and ultrasound and a catheter to measure/examine my uterus)
