Our little guy was born at 35 weeks and is really tiny because of that. He was 5 lbs 11oz at birth and today 6 days later he is down to 5 lbs 4 oz. I know newborns lose weight after birth but the pediatrician says he should be gaining by now and he isn’t. We have trouble getting him to finish a full 2oz at any feeding. He gets to about 1-1.5 at the most and is done. He either fights us trying to get the bottle in his mouth or he opens his mouth and just lays there and refuses to suck. I’m nervous if he doesn’t start eating more and gaining weight that the pediatrician is going to turn to something drastic to make him put on weight or worse he will end up back in the hospital. I know he is only a week old but this is our first child and we’re only going by what the doctor is saying. How do I get the little guy to eat more??
