Hyperthyroid & pregnancy- outcomes?
I’m 12 weeks and have had issues with my thyroid (& cortisol) for years but it was under control before I got pregnant (I wasn’t on meds). My OB just called me and told me my blood work came back & my thyroid is low (TSH @ .17) - aka I am hyperthyroid and have to go to a high risk OB for an assessment and possibly get treatment and/or medications.
Has this happened to anyone? Or do you know how hyperthyroidism can affect the baby or mother from personal experience? I’m anxious to google anything after reading a scary article- trying to stay as calm as I can for the little one.
I just had a miscarriage in April and I’m trying to stay grounded, but this made me super anxious and my appointment isn’t for another 3 days.
Many thanks,
Ashleigh
