Milk ?

Hello mommies ! This is breastmilk that I extracted yesterday and before yesterday and put in the refrigerator. Is it supposed to look like this or has it gone bad ? Thank you

That’s just the fat separating from the milk. As another user said, swirl the bottle to mix; do not shake. 
If the milk is stored in the back of the fridge it is good for 3-5 days. I always go with 3 to be on the safe side. I also always immediately freeze milk I know I won’t be using.

The milk is not bad unless it’s over 24hrs. The fat is what’s on top, the rest on the bottom. Just lightly swish around in a circle, do not shake as it breaks it down.

It’s fine it’s just separated. The rental rule for breast milk is 6 hours room temp, 6 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer. Deep frozen it can past for a year. Swirl gently, don’t shake and don’t mix different temperatures milk together

Not bad at all, when cold fat and milk separate and the fattier layer goes to the top. This is completely normal in someone who has a good high fat milk!

I would freeze not refrigerate! It’ll stay good longer. But in your picture it just looks like the fat is separating. Just mix it back up!☺️

It's only good for 24 hours in the fridge. If it's after that time frame, it's not good.

Sometimes it’s really hard to get the fat to mix back in. I got it off with a baby spoon and gave it my lo and she loved it.
