anyone else's family driving them INSANE?!

Just have to vent and I want to hear other people's stories! 8 months pregnant and my mum, my MIL, my godmother... everyone's being super invasive and giving too much unwanted advice. Plus if we don't take the advice they become irrational or stroppy. My husband is away for a week and I have to deal on my own, please tell me I'm not alone!

If they’re like this now, it will probably be even worse after you give birth. Get really good at smiling, saying “thanks for the advice” and just doing what you want. Also, just repeat. For example, a relative kept complaining that I would not put my baby to sleep on his stomach. I’d just say “No, that’s not what we’re doing” and change the subject. If they push the issue, just repeat “thanks, but we’re good.” Getting into a debate and talking about research only seemed to make it worse.

Totally get it! I’m due in 3 weeks and my MIL is already making comments on how we plan to raise our daughter (she doesn’t exactly agree) and and laughing at me and telling me I’m too over protective (for using a baby monitor when baby is older and not sleeping in our room). My family doesn’t live around here so thankfully I don’t need to listen to them because I know my mom would do the same thing. I already told my husband I’m not going to defend every decision we make because that’s what it seems like so far and she isn’t even here yet!

I am in general a very dry and rude person. I think people knew anyway that I was never ever ever gonna appreciate any input in my pregnancy, birth, after baby was born. 
I’ve always said, if I needed help or advice I would ask for it. And I did ask occasionally about things. 
But generally I would just reply with “yes I know.” And they’d see i weren’t happy and leave it. 
If I don’t want to have a conversation - I won’t have it. I’m that kind of bitch I’m afraid!

Were on the same boat Im 36 weeks and Im having the same problem with my MIL. She literally thinks shes a doctor 😑😑 Don't do this, Don't do that. The stuff shes literally telling me not to do my doctor has agreed to me doing. She's pissing me off big time. But thankfully my husband always ends up shutting her the damn up. She just finds time to do It when he's not there. Good luck to you 😩
