HELP!! RED RASH???

I was just sitting on my bed putting my son to sleep and my hands started stinging like crazy!! so I put paw paw on them which only made them sting more and then turn insanely itchy! I scratched a little till I looked down and saw 1000 little bumps/hives ! Does anyone have any clue what this is?!? I haven't used any chemicals today other than cleaning the carpet with a spray but that was over 9 hours ago, and I haven't really eaten anything today other than some toast and scrambled eggs?? so nothing unusual!
