Telling my S/O

I was sexually assaulted by the same guy twice (the most recent being 3 years ago). I wasn't expecting things to get serious between my partner and I, so I didn't tell them. Now we've been seeing each other for a year and have sex all the time. Could someone give any tips or tell me how you told your S/O?
