I’m 18. Yesterday, I went to get my first real major major hair cut. Previously, I’ve ALWAYS had long hair. Everyone has always rooted for my long hair (including myself); and say it’s the longest they’ve seen on a black girl. It’s just hair though to me when it’s all said and done- I am more than my hair; more than my length.

I’ve been getting my hair dyed since my sophomore high school summer & this time around I decided to add an extra step, kind of just because. This is extremely short to me, but I feel good and it’ll grow back I said:

I was so afraid, and almost considered telling my stylist to just wait until next time. The process was WILD y’all... like my hair even turned silver during the process trying to remove harsh yellows! I was at the salon from ten in the morning until almost five in the afternoon.

I posted on my snap after it was finished and even people I haven’t talked to in years let me know that it looks great. Here is my hair beforehand on different occasions;

If you’re afraid to try a new look, I say just go for it!
