My first baby- birth story.
This story isn’t anything exciting, I’m sharing it because I’m honestly surprised. So I’ll start by saying I had a really easy pregnancy aside from losing a lot of weight my first trimester due to extreme nausea. It got better once I hit my second trimester, I dealt with a lot of back pain and leg cramps but nothing I wouldn’t go through again. I did have to get an ultrasound every 4 weeks to check babes weight progress cause he was measuring on the smaller side (both me and my husband are small people so I honestly wasn’t surprised.) well I went into to my OB at 37 weeks for another ultrasound and check up, babe is doing good as he has this whole pregnancy but my blood pressure was really high, and so they had me stay for an hour to see if it would go down and they had to check it a few times until it went down, so they sent me home. Well a few days later I was at work and I wasn’t feeling well. I was seeing spots and was light headed and dizzy so I had my dad come take me to the hospital since my husband had been at work, working a double and I didn’t want to bother him if it was nothing. Well they ran tests and monitored my blood pressure and after 2 hours they told me they would be keeping me overnight and I would be induced in the morning (I was 37 weeks 6 days) I had to hold back my tears because I really didn’t want to be induced, I wanted him to come when he was ready, but since I had preeclampsia there wasn’t anything I could do. I called my husband who only had 30 minutes left of his shift that he didn’t need to rush over, just come when he’s done working but that we would be having our baby in the morning. So we spend the night in the hospital, and I could not sleep. They gave me a pill to soften my cervix so I was cramping and just completely uncomfortable. They woke me up at 7am to tell me they would be breaking my water soon (I was progressing so good on my own at this point that they said I didn’t need the pitocin.) So I called my parents and MIL and an hour after they got to the hospital they broke my water. I went as long as I could without the epidural, but caved and got it. I was only in labor for 6 hours, pushed for 10 minutes and my little man was here. I got so lucky that my labor was so quick and easy that it makes me scared for the next one lol Parker Raymond Wooledge was born at 3:38pm July 10th weighing 5lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. I have never felt so lucky in my whole life!
