How soon after delivery did you have sex?

hey ladies! I just had my little man 16 days ago. I had a vaginal birth and almost no tearing. she gave me a single stitch on each side as a precaution for the minimal tears I had. I'm planning on waiting until my stitches come out to have sex. but I wanted to know if any of you ladies had sex before the 6 week mark! I don't mean to sound impatient, but I feel great and I don't have any pain or discomfort down there anymore. and I hate waiting to have sex when I feel so great and so close to my man!

There are many risks to having sex before medically cleared. Maybe if you look those up, it’ll help you wait longer?

There’s a large open wound in your uterus from where the placenta was. Having sex before you’re cleared by your doctor can cause infection.

I couldn't even think about it until 9 weeks postpartum.the thought of it before that made me shudder 😣😣

I haven't given birth, but from reading things on here from other women apparently the cervix is still open at this point and you can get a major infection if you don't wait for it to close. It's understandable that your sex drive is high, but I personally don't think it's worth the risk

we waited 8weeks. its not worth the risk of infection. even if you feel great you can have open wounds in your uterus still and given the internal nature of the wound you have a significant chance of sepsis which can kill you.

Tried at 5weeks but insertion hurt way too much so we waited until 7weeks

I was like this about 3 weeks after my first was born, but was young and scared (and rightfully so) that something would go wrong. I missed feeling close to my husband though so we helped each other masturbate, although his help solely focused on nipple play, I wouldn't let him near my vagina, that was on me. Still don't know if this was safe, but it kept me sane and helped us to feel that level of intimacy we had been missing.

with my first we waited 21 days.. I had a natural birth and no tear. with the second we waited over 6 weeks.. i had a natural birth and third degree tear though😖 whenever you feel comfortable is best

I had a vaginal birth and just had a stitch on each side. The stitches came out at about 2 weeks, and my bleeding stopped exactly a month after birth. We tried a few days later, and it was a little tender, but it's been over 6 weeks now and it's back to normal! It hurt more to have the IUD inserted. 💀
