Donating money
Hypothetical scenario: You have a family member or friend who needs surgery. You want to donate to their go fund me campaign to help with their medical/travel/hotel expenses related to the trip (the doctor who performs the surgery is in another state).
Question: Does the amount of money that the family has/earns impact how much you donate?
For example: if they were a well-to-do family, would you still donate the same amount as if they were struggling financially? Would you wonder why they have a gofundme page if they make plenty of money? ...,..Or not? Are the wealthy just as entitled to ask others for help? One factor to consider is that just because someone appears wealthy from the outside doesn’t mean they’re not in debt or perhaps have their money tied up somehow and people just don’t know it.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Would you donate the same amount regardless of the family’s financial status?
