Period start then stop?

My period is due in 2 days. Yesterday morning my hubby and I had sex and after I thought it had made my period start early. I bled bright red for about an hour then it stopped and hasn't started again. I don't have cramps or anything. When I was pregnant with my son I would have a little blood after sex but not like yesterday. Guess I'll take a hpt soon.
