Early labor lasting days...?
So on Thursday I walked up the stairs and when I got to the top a bunch of liquid came down my legs. I went and got cleaned up and couldn't tell if it was urine or amniotic fluid. I tried laying down for a while and seeing if anything else came out but it didn't.
Then Friday the same thing happened. Right after walking upstairs and same amount of fluid. Still couldn't tell what it was, but cramping also started. A constant period cramp feeling. And some back pain too. I called my Dr. and they told me to head to L&D.;
They hooked me up to the monitor and after about an hour they said I was having consistent contractions about 5 minutes apart. I couldn't tell though because of the constant cramping. They checked me and said I was 1 cm. After another hour I was actually starting to feel the contractions. They weren't really painful, just a lot of tightening. They checked again and I was still 1 cm.
They gave me 2 bags of IV fluids and checked again after 2 hours. At this point contractions we're 7 minutes apart and I could not feel them anymore. Still only dilated a 1. They said it was early labor and to head home and come back when contractions we're painful and 3-5 minutes apart.
I've been having the worst cramping the past 2 days now, but I don't feel contractions. Baby is moving fine. My next appointment is Wednesday, and I don't want to go back to L&D; just to have the same happen. I'm 36 and 3 today so want baby to cook longer, but this cramping is driving me crazy. From the way they were talking I thought I would be back the next day to have her. Has anyone else been dealing with this or had early labor last so long? This is my second child and with the first nothing like this happened.
