Why did Delta give my brother TSA Precheck for free???

So I’m going on an international flight tomorrow with my mom, dad, and brother, and, as usual, we didn’t get TSA Precheck. But when we were printing our boarding passes, we noticed that my brother’s boarding pass said “TSA Prechk”. Then my dad thought that Delta must be giving us a free trial of Precheck because United has done that before. Then we scrolled down to the next boarding pass (my dad’s) and saw that his didn’t have Precheck. So then my dad said that they gave it to just my brother and me because we are under the age of 15 (my brother and I are both 13). But when we scrolled down to my boarding pass we saw that I didn’t have precheck either. So my question is, why did he get TSA Precheck for free? And why didn’t we have the option to not get it?
