My son will not for the life of him open his mouth to eat. If he does he opens it only partially. Nipple to nose or between the eyes causes even less of mouth opening to happen. In fact, those ways he won't open at all. The only way I get him to open even a small bit is to put my nipple to his mouth. It's a literal fight to get him on the boob, especially when he's flailing his arms all around and to his mouth. What the heck do I do? I've tried using my thumb on his chin to open his mouth but he resists too strongly. Yes he does this when he is hungry, he does it every time I try to feed him. He could be crying because he's hungry and he still won't open.
