Asking for too much?

Mine and my boyfriends anniversary is coming up. I had asked what we were doing and he looked at me like I just asked the craziest question ever. He said, “I don’t have the money to be spending on stupid $50 dinner. You always want to spend money, you ask too much.” But, I was just wondering if we were doing anything. We’ve been together 3 years and I figured he’d take me out or something. Am I asking for too much? I would have been okay with taking a walk through the park with our son. Or going on a picnic. I just wanted to do something out of the house together. It’s a special day to me. It didn’t need to involve money but he just jumped to the conclusion. I don’t even know if I want to do anything anymore. He really hurt my feelings. Would you be upset? I don’t know if I’m overreacting...
