Ask for a new engagement ring?

Short story...we been together for 2 and a half years. We dont live together (personal choice) We broke up on june 26 and he asked for the ring back....a week later he asked for another chance and i said yes after a long talk. 
We havent talk about wedding, we were supposed to get marry this coming October (yes i had and still have the dress) but now with no ring and a broken engagement i feel like i should reject the same ring IF he ask me again or something similar about marrying. 
Do you think its a good idea to not take the same ring he took away from me? (Have a new one) 
Please dont tell me i should not had give him another chance...

This is silly to me. Why would you insist he buy you another ring? Is there something wrong with the original ring? 
Personally I think there is too much drama to be considering marriage anyway. But if he asked again, I don’t see the reason to buy a new ring. That seems silly to me. It’s not like he’s giving you his ex’s ring. It’s yours.

Why would you get a new ring? Secondly, why would be re-propose? You got back together not long after you broke up, so surely you’re back on the same level of relationship you were before. 
I also think your priority should be sorting out your problems together before you plan the wedding. Good luck!

Why on Earth would he buy a new ring? Maybe if he could return the first one, that might be an option. But I dont thing its as simple as that. Theres return policies. He may not even realize you expect another proposal and ring.

He might not even think he should propose again. Sounds like you guys need to have a frank conversation on if you’re still getting married in October or not.

Asking him to buy you a whole new ring when your relationship is already shaky isn’t a great idea. And it’s a little selfish and petty too. I’m willing to bet that it would just make the situation worse.

I understand wanting a new one since there are now bad memories attached to this one, but I also look at the symbolism of a ring more than it’s materialism and it seems that most people don’t do that. An engagement ring is supposed to symbolize the start of the rest of your life together and that symbolism has now been broken. I wouldn’t want that to be the same ring placed on my finger on my wedding day personally. 
I do think you need to have a conversation with him about if you should continue towards marriage or go back to the relationship stage without engagement. Engagement is still a serious commitment and not something that should be broken so easily. Communication is of utmost importance from this point forward and you both need to be on the same page to make it work. Good luck!

An engagement broken for a week? That’s just angry people saying stuff. If neither one of you dated/slept with someone else within thst week it doen’t voint 😂 asking for another ring is ridiculous
