So.. I’ve only had one boyfriend, and we recently broke up. He was very sexual and all about sex. He always wanted me to dress revealing and even be naked in public. He also wanted me to have sex with other guys. Everything about us was so ducked up but... now I have no idea how a relationship should be..

There should be mutual respect. I dress quite revealing because I chose to. If I tell my SO no to sex he’s stops and makes sure that I’m ok as i don’t do it very often and usually means I’m having flashbacks. He would never pressure me into doing things that I’m not ok doing or change me.

A man should treat you with respect and not like a sexual object! He should help bring out the best in you and not try to change who you are. He should be understanding if you aren’t comfortable with something. I could go on but it sounds like you dated my ex honestly lol he was the exact same way. Wanted those same things (I didn’t do any of them) and after that i also didn’t know how a relationship was really supposed to be. So I get it! I lost a lot of self confidence and self worth but was able to gain it back by discovering who I am and I found someone who loves me for me. He respects me and showed me how a woman should be treated.

A guy shouldn't let you walk out in public first of all. Your his why would he want anyone else to see you like that? A guy shouldn't just want sex from you 24/7. A guy SHOULD give you attention, be there for you, support you, motivate you whenever you're feeling stuck, show you off by saying this my girl, taking you out. A guy SHOULD spend time with you. A guy SHOULD be your best friend and care about you. Don't EVER settle for less than a loving, caring, supportive guy.

He should make sure you’re alright, ask how you are, say good morning and good night. He should be able to tell you when you’re in the wrong with putting you down or accusing you, be affectionate and passionate, but not controlling. He should want to know who you’re out with, to make sure you’re safe, but not tell you who you can and cannot be around. That’s respect. You should be able to trust your bf and give him the same respect.
