Depends on the couple. I want my bf to do it eventually but it’s totally fine if someone else’s relationship is different

I asked my husband about this. He said if I would have proposed we would not have gotten married. But I grew up with that being the mans job so to speak. And my views haven’t changed.

I think whoever does it better be pretty damn sure they’re going to hear a yes or prepare for the shame they’re about to feel 😂 I’ve said no to more than a couple guys after dating them for 2-5 years. I’ve had two of them break up with me because I didn’t care for marriage, I’m not religious therefore it means nothing to me. My bf of over six years now is perfectly understanding and he doesn’t mind at all. I know women who’ve proposed and there’s NOTHING weird or wrong about it. I hold the door open for men and all that so why can’t women propose? 
I look at Goldie Hawk and Kurt Russell and think they’re perfect even if they’ve never gotten married in the 35+ years they’ve been together!

I'm just old-fashioned. I always wanted him to propose, and he KIND of did. Long story, he didn't shock me or get down on one knee, he sort of just suggested that we should get married. Then, we went out and picked out the engagement ring.

From someone with a traditional mindset, I think he should propose but hey you ladies and promise or whatever just not me
