Ok so I’ve been talking to this guy for a few months now. He’s super sweet and we’ve established a solid friendship. One of the first things i said to him before we even met in person was that I wasn’t looking for a long term relationship at the moment because I’m going off to college in a month. He’s one year old and already in college and attends a college ~15 minutes away from the one I’ll be at. I reaffirmed twice that I wasn’t ready for a long term relationship (mainly bc I wanna adjust to college right when it starts) he admits that he does like me but is still more than willing to just stay as friends. The last time we hung out he asked again if I was still not wanting to be in a relationship. I told him that I wasn’t. If I wasn’t going off to college in a month I would have said yes. Am I overestimating the typical advice of not going into college with a boyfriend? I don’t want to take away from any experiences in college. I don’t want to end up feeling that i wasted my time and missed out on things. I don’t know if he’s “the one” for me. We’ve talked about just having a summer fling then continuing as friends or simply just staying as friends. But when I think about him dating someone else, I get a little jealous (which isn’t fair of me!!) but idk. Thoughts? Thank you so much if you’ve read this far
