I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I was first put on a low carb diet and told we would just do an nst and check my sugar at each appointment. Well at my last appointment my sugar was 166 and all I had ate was plain eggs. Well now when I go back in a week I am having an ultrasound and we are debating medications. This week my doctor has me checking my sugar 4 times a day one of course being fasting. My sugar has been no lower than 90. So now I am wondering what medications they use while pregnant. Everyone I know has been put straight on insulin, has anyone been put on anything else for gestational diabetes?
