Would you use a RANDOM persons breast milk?

Question

Long story short I forgot the bottles I use to pump at work with at the daycare and I ended up pumping into a random bottle in my car just to keep up with supply and relieve engorement. I knew I wasn’t using it for feeding so I looked up other uses like baths, soaps, butter etc. I jokingly told SO that I was going to sell it and he said “ you should! My coworker sold hers on eBay.” I was like WHAAAT?!?!?!?!? I honestly never thought about using it for anything other than feeding until now and buying milk off eBay to make a soap is a little extreme so I figured it had to be for feeding. You literally have no clue who this person is. A VEEERRRY close friend I can understand( I probably still wouldn’t do it myself, but it’s more understandable) but a person off eBay is a No.

There are milk sharing sites like Eats on Feet’s and Human Milk 4 Human Babies. Milk sharing isn’t new or weird. Wet nurses existed for thousands of years. It’s possible to meet someone, get to know them over coffee, view medical records if they’re comfortable with it, and decide milk sharing is right for you. Mothers and babies rely on donor milk every day. If you actually want money for it you can go through testing and donate to a milk bank.

i found out a while back that quite a few body builders will pay good money for breast milk, it apparently help them bulk up, i personally gag at the thought but its an interesting idea

My son was breastfeed till 15months. 
When he was about 7months I had to be away from him for almost a whole day. I didnt have much of a stash due to not responding to the pump well. 
I opted to reach out to my local breastmilk donations group and ask for milk. A mom was kinda enough to donate so my son could eat and be happy.

I used donated breast milk for the first month of my daughter life, I can’t breast feed due to sensitive nipples so while in labor they asked if I wanted formula or breast milk. I opted for the breast milk. I can’t give it to her but someone else was generous and graceful enough to donate theirs so why not use it and put it to a good use! I used it my entire hospital stay (3days) and then they sent me home with a crap ton of it I used it for a month! #sorrynotsorry #anothermommasmilk

Probably wouldn’t use someone’s I bought, you don’t know what that person does as far and diet, any drugs legal or not sooo nope... but I would donate mine to hospitals, they test mom and milk to make sure it’s safe

If it was a hospital and donated yes! They do testing on their milk. :) I would so donate to help other little babies for moms who cant breastfeed!!

I would not use it but I am considering selling mine. My lo can’t have it do to dairy protein allergy. I have over 200 ounces frozen and her formula is double the cost of normal.

If I couldn't have provided my baby with my own milk,I would opt for donor milk as my second choice. I would probably be happy getting it from the usual known websites as long as the person confirms they aren't on medication/smoker etc. That would technically be a random person. I would not buy it on eBay though, it could be cow's milk for all you know. But that's why I said yes to your poll

Buying from the person - no. Using milk that was donated, tested, and given to me by a hospital - yes. We used donated breastmilk while in the hospital and I am quite grateful for that.

I donated to a milk bank but I was screened (as were my donations). Those mommas used a "random persons" milk and I would have too if needed but no way would I be comfortable buying from the internet!!
