Considered Dating?!

Sooo. I have a boyfriend but he lives in a different state, on the opposite end of the US. We FaceTime 5+ hours everyday. But my parents, and family members say it’s not dating if we don’t see each other in person. What do you think?

I personally feel like you have to be with each other in real life face to face to have a real relationship. This is just my opinion.

I disagree 100% you guys still seem pretty committed to the relationship so yes you both are very much still together. Don’t let the negativity from others bother you. You don’t have to meet THEIR standards for a relationship.

Personally, I don’t consider someone in a relationship unless they’ve met the person in person. You can hide so much about yourself online. You can miss so many red flags because the other person is able to hide those scary aspects of their personality. So I don’t think you can even really know that person even if you Skype regularly and have even met their friends and family over Skype. 
But, it’s your life so if you want to consider yourself in a relationship then that’s your business of course.
