So I shared the name we like for for our little girl with a co-worker. She said it was horrible and sounded like a strippers name. Omg I am devastated. How would you react? Has anyone said something so mean to you?

I would find that kind of funny. I also tell anyone that asks that we aren't sharing the name until baby is born. It is your decision so who cares what other people think

We’ve decided not to tell anyone in our lives our baby girl’s name for a couple of reasons: 1) people can be jerks (as you’ve unfortunately experience) 2) everyone will have an opinion (again you’re experience, other peoples opinions don’t really matter but they can be hurtful) and 3) when the baby is born we might look at her and say oh no that name doesn’t suit her. I told my cousin that we’ve chosen and old Hebrew name and that it’s very uncommon (as far as we know) she said aren’t you afraid people won’t be able to pronounce it? We aren’t worried about that. My husband has an uncommon name and has corrected people all his life but once they know they don’t tend to keep saying it wrong. We chose that name for the meaning. Personally I think the name Daisy is beautiful. Keep your head up you’re already a great mom and will pick the perfect name for your little girl whether it’s Daisy or something else.
