I’m a little late on posting my birth story but I’ve been so excited to! Due date was July 9th!

July 9th is my FIL’s birthday. He passed away in January of this year, so we really wanted our sweet girl to be born on her due date.

On the morning of July 8th, I started having mild contractions. They were consistent for about 45 minutes, 5 minutes or less apart. Then they suddenly stopped. I was pretty bummed out. We decided to try driving on all the bumpy roads in town and walked like crazy! That night, contractions started up again around 7 pm. We went to the Riverwalk where I live and walked until midnight. Finally I got tired and we decided to go home. We stayed up talking until about 4 am and decided to go to bed. They hit so much harder and even though I “slept” for about 2 hours, I wasn’t rested at all, as the contractions woke me up what seemed like every 5 minutes. Finally, I was in so much pain at 6 am that I woke my boyfriend up and told him it was time to go!!!

We arrived at the hospital around 6:30 and after what seemed like forever, they admitted me! (Here’s my boyfriend being amazing, like always 💕 he was the best birthing partner!!!)

My doctor came in and broke my water around 1 pm and finally around 6 pm I broke down and asked for the epidural, as they were planning on starting pitocin to speed up the process. It was instant relief! I could barely tell I was having contractions!

Around 8 pm, I was fully dilated and the nurse called my doctor and we started practice pushes. I pushed through one contraction and the nurse told me the doctor was on her way! I ended up pushing for a little more than 2 hours (and the epidural stopped working right before I started pushing 🙃) and I tore in 4 places!!! (I FELT ALL OF IT)

FINALLY at 10:25 pm, on her Grandpa’s birthday, our precious baby entered this world.

Baby Lainey Rae Quintana was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20 3/4 inches long 💕💕💕 it was love at first sight. She’s the most beautiful human I’ve ever seen.
