My bf and I tried to have sex for the first time today (we were both virgins), and he was on top but he couldn't get it to go in more than about an inch. He kept trying to force it in but it wouldn't work. The whole ordeal was extremely painful for me as I was wet but apparently not wet enough. Do y'all think it was the hymen that was stopping him from going in (I've never used tampons or had anything in there including fingers)? I thought the hymen was supposed to break if he forced it in. Also should we use lube next time? He seems reluctant because none of his friends have ever needed it but I feel like we should.
