C-Section?

Question

I’m just wondering how bad it is to recover from a c-section. (Obviously it’s not gonna be a walk in the park) but is it really THAT much worse than a natural birth? 
Tips on how to survive the first few weeks? 
How much does it vary from a natural birth?

I’ve had 2 c sections. I have had very easy recoveries with both. I didn’t even need any pain medication when I was discharged from the hospital after 3 days.

I just had my second this morning. I don’t think it’s that bad. I’m a little sore but basically doing my normal things. Moving a little slower and being more careful, but it’s not bad

I have had 2csections. First was Ann emergency csection and revive was horrid. Full honest truth, I couldn't even get off my bed by myself. Its a huge abdominal surgery. My second csection was planned and as much easier! 
If you don't HAVE to have a csection.. don't! Recovery takes weeks. Vaginal takes maybe a couple days.

Mine wasn’t bad at all. My husband went back to work once we were able to go home so I had to do everything on my own. It honestly was a breeze but I had staples so they were the only things that would hurt me here n there

Mine was a breeze. I turned down all pain meds they offered (obviously some they automatically gave) in the hospital and never cracked the seal on my narcotics. Ibuprofen was enough for me. Just walk as soon as you can and often, use a belly binder, and hold a firm pillow tightly on your tummy anytime you cough/sneeze/stand up etc.

I have had 2 csections. It is a painful recovery. But they werent that bad for me.

Mine actually was a breeze haha. Used abdominal binders which helped a great deal with any discomfort. Turned down most pain meds while in the hospital and stopped taking them completely once discharged. Only needed help out of bed when we got home for the first couple of days. Discomfort was insanely minimal and only lasted for a week or two? Not bad at all. Looking forward to my second one come January if it’s anything like my first.

My last was a c section, it wasn’t THAT bad. Yes getting up to walk the first time it burned, and every time I coughed or laughed I would be shocked by the pain. But I thought my recovery went fairly well. Gas is what I would warn you about! Try to be up and moving around ASAP to help get the gas out. I used to lean over the tub when I’d get pains to help gravity about work with me.

I don't know if anyone's said it yet, but my recommendation would be to get some high waisted underwear. Your other underwear will rub the incision and cause more pain! I used Kindred Bravely postpartum underwear (I got them on Amazon). It didn't rub on the incision and it's big enough to wear and use pads in while you're still bleeding.

Not all vaginal birth recoveries “take a few days”... i went through months of pelvic floor PT and have scar tissue that needs to be removed. I’m electing for a c section this time around :)
