Is it wrong to go through SO phone?

I’ve never gone through my SO phone but I’ve seen so many arguments where people say it’s wrong and others say it’s ok. I want others opinions

I’m so surprised that so many people are saying that it’s fine. 
My partner and I have full access to each other’s phones but we never snoop on each other, we never feel the need to check up on each other. If you don’t trust your partner, how can you have a relationship with them?

Depends. If you guys are both open about it and agree to going through each others phones then I don’t see anything wrong with. 
I don’t really understand why anyone would want to be with someone who they trusted so little to feel the need to have to spy on their messages and phone calls thought

I’d never go through it without his permission, but I can have his phone whenever I want. If he ever tried to prevent me from looking at it though, there had better be some diamonds or a surprise party you don’t want me to know about. Lol

I think it depends, my husband and I both pick up each other's phones at random and just have a nosey. Not because we suspect the other of anything, just that we're nosey people 😂

The only times I ever have is when I felt something was seriously wrong, and suddenly wasn’t trusting what my partner said. 
That’s the only time I’ve done it. And I’m sure everyone on here that said hell no would do the same if they felt that something was seriously off.

Its a bit of a catch 22.. if you’re both open and okay with it, then you shouldn’t feel the need to go through their phone. If your SO is sketchy, and says no, then you can’t go through his phone out of respext , but that’s when you need to.

I was always aloud to use my ex husbands phone if i didnt have mine handy. We both never felt the need to let other on the oppisites phone. Untill, when i found out i was pregnant my ex became very distracted, i would ask to use his phone and it would be no, i went to use it one day to ring my mum and he snatched it from me and dared me to go in it again. So this made me worried and made me feel like i needed to check his phone. Low and behold he was cheating! So yes, i think if you feel like you need to, check it if they have nothing to hide they wouldnt get upset about it.

My man does not keep his phone from me. Same goes for me. We both know each other’s passwords and stuff. So I don’t checking w/o permission is something we would do

my bf and I have each other’s passwords and he even uses my phone sometimes to text my family or whatever. we have no secrets, however I wouldn’t care if he went through my phone and he doesn’t care either because neither one of us want to hide anything.
