What position are you planning to birth in/did you birth in?

Question

I’m planning an active birth and wanting to stay upright and moving for as long as possible to allow gravity to do its job! Just wondering what position you mamas have chosen for your big day? Or what position you’d recommend for a FTM?
Currently 39+2 with zero signs that baby wants to be here any time soon!

I did hands and knees in the bed with my hands on the back of the bed, so I was semi upright. I did this for most of the pushing and it got her head out. 
They made me turn to my back after that because they couldn’t get a good read on baby girls’s heartbeat. Not that her heart wasn’t beating, they just couldn’t pick it up in that position. 🙄 
Definitely preferred hands and knees.

Well, for my first I wanted hands and knees, but wound up giving birth lying on my back because baby was in distress at that angle.
With this one, I had every intention of laboring in the tub, then giving birth on hands and knees or back again......well, baby decided he was coming IN the tub, while I was on my hands and knees cuz I barely made it to the tub. lol
So neither time did it really go as planned, but it worked fine both times. 😂

If I had my way I would have delivered standing up. For some reason standing felt the best for labor and pushing but my midwife advised against giving birth standing due to a higher risk of tearing. So I ended up delivering on my side. Ended up having an almost 10lb babe with no tears so also consider what you midwife/Dr suggests.

for my last 2 labours I have found I naturally went into a standing but leaning forward position. i had a birthing ball but couldn't sit on it. instead I put it on the sofa and used it to lean on x

i wanted squatting as my birth plan, but my body was so sore i could only handle laying. i was 100% natural.

I birthed my first girl on hands and knees, my total pushing time was only 28 mins lol it went super fast because that position definitely helps bring baby downwards faster and easier :) planning on the same with this baby as well.

That was my plan too but contractions hurt so bad when standing or sitting up. So when I was getting towards the end I laid on my side with the peanut birthing ball between my legs and that made my contractions really strong and sped up dilation. Then I pushed on my back but not lying flat I was sitting up some.
