Please give advice not judgment!
Hello! My husband & I moved to the country about 10 months ago & we finally got outdoor cats to fend off mice & other animals. Our neighbors cats had like 3 litters this year so we took 7 of them. I kept them in our screened in porch for a week or 2 so they would know where home is & ever since they’ve been outside learning to hunt & find shelter.
Well we have a 4 yr old pit & we’ve had her since she was a puppy. She’s killed 4 of our kittens. We even started leashing her to take her outside & bringing her back in. I hate doing this & I feel terrible but we need to give these kittens a chance! Once they are big enough they could get away & defend themselves. My husband suggested putting a muzzle on her so she couldn’t bite them but I feel like she’d still torment them & I just hate to do that to her.
Gabbie our Pit is a very sweet dog. She’s perfect to the kids & has never once tried to bite or show aggression to any of us.
What do you think the best solution is? Muzzle? Give the cats away?
