The pain was unbearable. It’s my first time using tampons. There were instructions inside the box (tampax). I tried to follow them. It seemed easy enough. When I pushed the applicator in, for some reason, I felt immense pain in my vagina. I couldn’t push the tampon any further in. I tried different positions to slide it inside (eg. squatting, one leg up, and lying down). I waited a few minutes to relax while the end was dangling out (I wanted to push it in all the way). Although I waited for the pain to subside, it never did. I couldnt bear the pain, so I had to take it out. I tried to insert 3 new tampons, and each time I waited some time to pass so I wasn’t as tense as before. Are tampons supposed to hurt the first time you use them? It’s my third period day, so I figured I could try using a tampon since it isn’t as heavy of a flow.
