being induced!!!

well today doctor scheduled me to be induced tommorow morning!! I'm flip flopping between being excited/scared/disappointed/relieved.

excited to finally have this baby

scared because I'm having a baby/ everyone says its way worse than natural Labor

disappointed cuz I feel like I'm missing out on going into natural Labor (not real labor)

relieved to not be anxiously waiting for any little sign, sitting at home with life on hold waiting.

reason I'm being inducted are overdue 40w4, I know it's not that much but my doctor isn't on call when I'm actually at 41w and I had a bad experience with the alternate so I don't want to have him anywhere near me. baby is measuring big, and my BP can't decide what it's doing. last week it was very high, today it's below average for this late in pregnancy.

so FTM who have been induced. how long in average was everyone in labor? did you end up having to get a c-section??

I was induced at 39 weeks 1 day due to high risk and big baby. My labour and delivery was a traumatic experience. I labored for 18-19 hours, but he ended up being in the wrong position and getting stuck. My epidural had to be turned down to half because I wasn't feeling enough to push, that caused me to feel too much and my epidural actually came out. So I was unmedicated with a baby trying to push his way out but being too big to come out. Ended up with a C section but the medicine wasn't working, the pharmacy didn't have the other medication needed, and I was still feeling things so I had to be put under. Once they put me to sleep it was only like 5 minutes and baby was out. 3 and half weeks later I'm still getting occasional soreness at my incision, but doing pretty good. Recovery has been tough, there was like a week where I couldn't even go to the bathroom myself. I promise I'm not trying to scare you lmao Everyones experience is different and hopefully yours goes a lot smoother than mine. Luckily baby was okay, besides a mega conehead and a cut on his face. His conehead went away pretty fast though 😂

I was induced at 39 weeks due to pregnancy induced hypertension and it was a very positive experience! I was 2cm dilated when I was induced at 10 am using the gel and my contractions started almost immediately. Baby was turned so I had a lot of back labour which was the only real hard part! My water broke after bouncing on the ball around 3 pm and my contractions started getting more intense. I opted for an epidural at 7:30pm and by the time it was in place it was about 8:30pm. I had no pain after that and started pushing at 12:00 am. We welcomed our boy at 12:30am! I was also very nervous about being induced and felt like I read more stories about it being harder than it being a positive experience. I hope things go well for you, good luck!

I’d take my induction experience over my natural labor experience any day of the week! The pain was so horrific with my first. It was perfect. Went in at a 4, got the epidural when I was a 5/6 before any real pain started as the anesthesiologist had back to back c sections soon after. And not even kidding, I went from a 6 to complete in 30 minutes. I just all the sudden felt like I had to poop, told the nurse and she called the doctor! 4 contractions later I was holding my baby!
