(Update) Stressing over a nursery rug 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Tiffany

I feel like this is one of those, “you might be pregnant if...” moments 😐.

So I went to Pottery Barn today to see about getting our baby girl a blush nursery rug. I went in thinking I wanted the herringbone pink rug... until I saw a blue one on the floor and it was a hot mess.

I started searching through all of their rugs and they all looked like they’d been picked up off the floor after being neglected for months. It was kind of gross. They were shedding, faded and there were stains on them.

Is it just me? Or is it difficult to see exactly what you want when products are dirty, worn and falling apart? This can’t just be a pregnancy thing...

I was sooooo bummed.

Now I’m even questioning if I want a rug. Our nursery furniture is much bigger than I expected and the room is much smaller than I think we realized. So I was already torn over whether a 5x8 rug would be too much. Then the in store designer recommended a circular rug, but again the ones she had to show me weren’t convincing me they were the one due to the state they were in.

So now I’m not only questioning what pattern I want, but also the style.

I don’t have any good photos of the nursery yet bc we’re still setting up, but here’s what we have so far:

.

Eventually there will be photos of a Deer, Owl, and a Fox wearing floral crowns and sitting in flowers behind her crib. A white ruffle skirt with a crib sheet.

I tried to find a simple blush round rug, but so far no luck. I did however find a square rug.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or recommendations? Round? Square? Rectangle? Plain or otherwise? Store recommendations?

I’m open to options! I really want to get this done before she gets here.

Update:

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! For now I’ve decided to scrap the rug idea and just put the wall decor up and see if that will give it that final feminine touch I’m looking for.

LO’s theme is woodland creatures (the photos of the animals have little crowns), I’m thinking it may be enough without the rug. Will post when I’ve finished! 😊
