PCOS/ kids or no?

Question

Does anyone else struggle with having PCOS? If so was it possible for you to have kids or is it impossible? My OBGYN told me pretty much that it’s not going to happen but I’m so depressed. My husbands going to the army and I wanna have a child before hand, it’s just not happening. I’m not on any birth control or anything. He’s done it in me multiple times and still nothing. Any advice?

Find a new OB! Pcos is very hereditary and I got it from my mother. I was born I also am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my first. MANY women with pcos get pregnant. Some even without fertility treatments. Most of the time just a change in diet and exercise. A diet change can help a lot. Sometimes it can be hard and treatments might be needed. But I believe now days a women with pcos to never have children is more rare then it was previously. Our technology is so advanced now it’s very possible!

A lot of people with PCOS have kids. It just might take you a bit longer, and you might need some assistance. I only have mild PCOS and don’t have a lot of the usual symptoms, but I was able to get pregnant by taking femara (letrozole). So don’t give up hope. You just might be best talking to a fertility specialist about your options.

You need a new doctor, throw that one away. I was diagnosed with lean PCOS and literally the first thing my doctor told me was , “don’t worry whenever the time comes MANY of women with PCOS are able to get pregnant, it’s just a little harder sometimes but very possible” . Your doctor sounds lazy and you need someone who will help you do whatever is best for you, especially when trying to conceive! Good luck hunny! Have faith girl!!!
