Do you think it's the fathers right to be in the hospital room when his baby is being born? (if the couple is not together)

absolutely not.  if having him in the room is going to cause the mother discomfort then he needs to wait until the baby is born.  no one has the right to be in the room.  .. the doctor at the hospital will say the same.  Mom should be surrounded with love, positive vibes etc. dad has rights to the baby , absolutely,  just not the right to be in the room.  it's mom's choice.  period

Whether or not the couple is together, it’s still the mother’s decision. I already told my husband that if he stresses me out to the point I need him to leave the room, he’ll be leaving the room. It’s about getting the baby out safely for both mother and baby, and if the father is stressing the mother to the point where it could harm the baby, he has to go.

He has a right to see the baby once the baby is born, but if during labor the mother does not want him there then he must wait. There's no reason for him to be there if she's laboring and the child isn't there yet. If he's there for the child then he shouldn't have a problem waiting
Labor is hard and if someone is there that maybe you aren't getting along with/stresses you out then they shouldn't be there.

Honestly it’s the mothers choice. I wasn’t with my little girls dad, he caused me so much stress in my pregnancy and I still let him in the room whilst I was in labour. I was in labour 17 hours and all he was doing was on his phone in the corner of the room. If it wasn’t for my mum being there I would’ve struggled, he never helped or anything. Turns out he was texting another girl confessing his undying love to her... fully understand we wasn’t together but theres a time and place and that isn’t one! So I wish he wasn’t there tbh.

it would be really nice if they could work their differences out and he could be in there. but in all reality she is the patient, it's her body she can choose who is going to be there.

The mother is the patient. It’s up to her to decide who will be there, and she shouldn’t have anyone there she isn’t comfortable with.

I think the dad has the right to be in there, he also made that child so I dont see why the woman would be uncomfortable unless she is abused by him or something like that but if they're not in good terms bcuz of their relationship I dont think she stop him from being in  there, I think it's just selfish. The dad has as much rights as the mother does.
