My "slut" dress

Jennifer

Dress in question: a $30 floral spaghetti strap mid thigh dress from Windsor (for those of you slow to catch on, I'm the one to the left 😂)

I bought this dress this past winter and wore it twice. Once to a fancy steak restaurant when my dad came to visit me and once as a date to my friend's brother's wedding.

The first time I wore it, I was accused of cheating on my boyfriend because "no one gets that dressed up to see their dad" and "I saw her walking on campus last semester with a guy." (Apparently you can't walk with a classmate ladies).

EDIT: I wasn't THIS dressed up to see my dad. I'm simply saying this was the dress I wore. It was a nice steakhouse ($70 a steak, etc). I wore strappy sandals and had my hair in a ponytail chill 🙄

The second time, the groom yelled at my best friend because "you and your friend showed up looking like sluts."

EDIT 2: the dress code was not black tie optional/formal as many of you seem to think. It was a mix between dressy casual and cocktail. I was one of the more "dressed up" people there. Some showed up in jeans.

Seriously? Can us girls not wear dresses anymore unless they're loose fitting, cover our ankles, cover our wrists, cover our necks, and are in muted colors? A dress I was complimented on time and time again at the wedding and by friends and family upon seeing pictures, asking where I bought it so they could buy it for a special event they had coming up. I literally turned down 2 of the groomsmen (one who had a girlfriend) during the reception and I'm the slut?

This is honestly ridiculous. As a 22 year old woman, I should not be told I'm a slut or I'm cheating because I'm wearing an outfit that turns somebody else on. Normally I don't freak out about this type of shit but this is getting is absolutely absurd.

Anybody else have a "slut" dress/outfit? 😂😂😂

FINAL UPDATE/EDIT:

No my boyfriend was not the person who accused me of cheating, it was his roommate who saw me leave to go to dinner. Didn't even have the balls to say anything until months later either and bf pretty much just laughed right in his face when he told him. Bf knows and encourages me to dress up even when I'm not with him because he knows it's something I enjoy and likes to see me radiant and happy 😊 Thanks for sticking up for me ladies, but he's a good guy.
