From bed share to solo?

For those who bed share when did you move your LO to their own bed? How did it go? Any tips, tricks, advice and info appreciated. I’m not in a rush, but would love to know your stories. Our 2 year old doesn’t seem ready but when we do transition him I want it to be a positive experience for all of us.

Our daughter was probably 2 when we switched her to her own bed. She was in a crib, then a toddler bed, but would come lay in our bed every night after we moved.  We made it a big deal for our daughter. We let her pick out her big girl bed, her bedding and and little decorations she wanted for her room. She was so excited to sleep in her bed.

our daughter transitioned at 1 yr... she coslept since 6 months and before that she was in her crib beside the bed.she would toss and turn in her crib and wake herself up.. so we bought her a queen size mattress and have it on the floor ( looks ridiculous but works) so she could climb down without injury. I lay with her until she falls asleep and would leave. as soon as she made a peep I would go back in and let her falls asleep again to leave again. within 4 days she sleeps by herself but I still lay with her for the first 15 mins when she falls asleep. the cry it out method just made my blood pressure rise and I would sleep worse. my goal was to sleep better lol
