Not able to hear heartbeat because of risks??

So I had my first appt at 9w4d and they told me I wasn’t able to hear the heartbeat because it comes with risks now?? I’ve never heard of this anyone else have this happen ?

Mine did the same at 6w and at 8w. I was told that it’s better to let the baby get settled and not send doppler waves through belly yet. I’ve also heard that it’s not safe to use the at home dopplers too often because they’re not safe. Honestly though, I didn’t question it much. There are articles that support the theory and articles that don’t. I got to see baby and baby’s heart beating which put me at ease for now 🙌🏼💗😊

My doc said same. I saw the heart beating and I was fine w not hearing it now. I read that the sonogram waves can cause heat which is bad for the cells. But obviously a lot of people do it and the baby seems fine.

I had the same thing at my 12 week scan , they only do it at the 20 week scan now because the waves are to strong for the baby.

At my 8 week appointment they said they don’t do it this early because there are studies it could be dangerous for the baby. They were very transparent that they don’t know whether that is true or not, but they practice on the side of caution. We could see it brightly beating so we didn’t really care and I prefer to do whatever is safest of course

They say unless you’ve had previous miscarriages or high risk pregnancy they’ll avoid checking the heartbeat til second trimester.

It’s very loud is what I was told but that’s only with the ultrasound I guess. Never heard this in my first pregnancy

What?! what risks? baby number 4 here never heard of this

they told me its best to wait for heart beat because  some times they can find  it and maybe next time  cant just depends on how deep baby is . that way the mothers dont stress  that they  havent heard the  beat
