Period sex?

So my period is 4 days late and tonight my boyfriend is staying over and is been awhile since we did anything and we were getting frisky with our hands cause I didn’t want to insert anything because of my period being any day now ... but I got to worked up and let him insert . I stopped him cause I was starting to feel tight I went to the bathroom and BOOM blood it’s very light but I think I just started my period . And if so I’m kinda happy about it so I can get the suffering over with but I’m still worried about how painful it’s gonna be.

EDIT: I just woke up and there was no blood on my pad what do I do?!?
