Bleeding on the rod

So basically I got the rod inserted two days ago, since then I’ve had pretty bad cramps and I just got my period pretty heavy today. I wasn’t due to get it for another week, I was told that it could either go two ways, I could bleed 24/7 or I wouldn’t get a period at all and I’m scared this means I’m gonna bleed 24/7. Can anyone give me some advice? X
