When did you start your little one on baby food?

My baby boy will be 4 months soon and he’s so hungry all the time even with rice cereal in his formula. I was told they can start anytime between 4-6 months but the thought of starting him on solids makes me nervous for some reason.

Its not recommended to start solids until baby is 6 months old and shows signs of being ready ie. able to sit up on his own and support himself for a minute as well as showing an interest in food.

The AAP and WHO recommend no solids before 6 months. Also, it’s no longer recommended to put cereal in baby’s bottles, as it is a choking hazard.

6 months with our first and this one will be the same. There’s no reason to start any earlier unless your pediatrician suggests it for some reason.

Started our son at 4 months with the doctors permission/recommendation. My son was the same way. He was always hungry and crabby. Once we started food he was a much happier baby. He showed all the signs of readiness. He did amazing and he’s now 14 months old and a pro at eating.

I started at 6 months 4 months is ok with your drs approval. Just talk to your dr and see what they say

I’m starting my baby on oat cereal (being that it has more nutrients than rice) but I do a real soupy blend with 1 oz of milk to 2 teaspoons of cereal just until she gets the concept of using a spoon....we’re just starting out but she’s getting better

I started my son at 4 months with green beans and apples I think & waited to introduce more flavors till he was 6 months. It all depends on the baby and if you want to introduce food at 4 months or wait till 6. I also started putting baby cereal in this bottle to help fill him up.

I did at 5 because my doctor said I could start giving him rice cereal so I kind of thought that was pointless since it doesn’t really do anything so I gave him food and he was always fine.
