Having a 36 week growth ultrasound??

Question

With my first two kids I had two ultrasounds one at 8 weeks and one at 20 weeks. This time around I feel like I’m having an ultrasound every couple months.  Now I am scheduled for a growth ultrasound on Monday. 
Wondering if this is pretty standard now? Baby is measuring great at my appointments and I don’t have any other pregnancy issues.

I’ve had growth ultrasounds my entire pregnancy, but the 36 seemed pretty standard so they could check baby’s position, estimate weight, etc

I've had one done at 19, 23, 29, two done at 34, and I will have another at 38.

Yeah growth scans are something I’m just now hearing about. When I had my first 6 years ago I hadn’t heard the term really. I don’t think I’m having one. No one has said anything about it.

I have one scheduled for next Wednesday. I'll be 37+2. I've been measuring 2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy. They just want to make sure baby isn't getting too big. Based on my contractions, I doubt I'll make it to Wednesday.

my OB does the original confirmation ultrasound and then a 36 week ultrasound. I had to pay extra for the 20 week

I get an early one to date the pregnancy. A 12 week one to look at nuchal translucency, an 18 week one for the anatomy scan and a 36 week one to estimate weight and make sure baby is head down.
