Sleeping arrangements???

Question

Ok I’m due with number two in October but I’m wondering what to do with my January baby bed wise. Should I buy another crib? Or Try a toddler bed?

They say not to move your toddler out of their crib until they’re ready. Plus, a new baby is already so much change and your toddler might regress and crave familiar stability in his/her crib  - maybe opt for a bassinet until baby is a little older; ours used a Chicco bassinet for the first 7 months of his life. Worked great.

I put my son in a toddler bed at 15 months and regretted it the first 2 weeks but stuck with it and I would never go back to a crib or confined bed setup now. 
We have a baby cam to keep an eye on him too. If he wakes up, he usually goes back to sleep on his bed. Last night, he moved onto the floor next to the bed for a bit, then decided his bed was a better option again. 
I, too, was worried about him roaming around before we put him in it but that only happened in the first 2 weeks. We make sure his door is latched so he can’t open it. Also, he didn’t regress when his brother was born and suddenly want to be back in his pack n play. He ❤️s his bed now!! He goes right to it and jumps on for naps and bedtime.

Due the end of August and I moved my son to a toddler bed a few weeks ago so that he could get used to it before baby comes. I know it will be a big adjustment for him when another baby is around, I didn’t want him to feel like the baby was taking his bed too! Lol. This way he is already adapted to his new big boy bed. He took to it really well also!! He actually seems to love it. I probably won’t use the crib for months to come but it’ll be ready for baby when we are!

due early September and I moved Olivia to a toddler bed in June when I couldn't bare to be hunched over her crib anymore. It was about 2 weeks of torture (moving to sleep on thr floor next to her at 2 or 4am until morning 😥)  and doubting myself but now she's doing great in it.

I have number 2 due in October as well. We transitioned our son to a twin sized bed the beginning of July. The first week was a little rough but now he’s sleeping in it like a champ!

I would just use a pack n play/ bassinet for new baby (my first was in a pack n play for like 6 months in our room) hopefully that could buy you some time and by then your oldest would be ready for a twin bed with railing? That way you wouldn’t have to buy two cribs! That’s what I would do!

Nemat slept in a pack and play next to our bed until he was 7 months old, so depending on what you want to do, you may not even want a new crib that early. I spent so much time getting his nursery ready, and he didn’t even sleep there for so many months! If your first needs to be moved/starts climbing out that’s a different situation, but a new baby is enough change without taking the crib. If I can keep Nemat in his crib until he’s 2 or 3 I will! He has showed no signs of trying to climb out yet.

We bought a mini crib for our second.  Once my first is around 2 years we are going to go straight to a twin size bed and move her sister into her crib.  She shows absolutely no signs of being ready for a big girl bed and just absolutely loves her crib.  She is showing signs of jealousy towards her sister and I don’t want the crib to be another thing that makes her jealous.

When I bought my daughters bed I got one that went to a toddler bed. I am also due in October and he will be sleeping in a bassinet for awhile but I'm going to get him his own crib that concerts also

I keep my new babies in a pack n play, bassinet or other small bed next to mine until they are sleeping longer stretches...so my Son won’t be kicked out of his crib until about 28 months.
We got my daughter a crib that converts to a toddler bed and moved her into that when my son took the regular crib.  We left the sides on her crib until she started crawling over the rail & we converted it.  It was a highly rated crib on Amazon for a couple hundred dollars and it’s been great.
When our third is about 4 months & goes to the crib, my then 28 month old will move to her toddler bed & we’ll put my then 4 year old in a queen bed that she will sleep in until college 😂
